joewest
I have a compression tester. Can't screw it in tho. Would I need to just remove my tank? Or is there a different one that works better with quads? I've also heard people say to hold the throttle wide open when kicking it. How many times should I kick it? SAVAGE420
Do as you said, hold throttle open and kick until the needle stops moving. Make sure the threaded part on the comp tester is Exactly the same length threads as the spark plug or your reading will be off. You can screw it in with the tank on if the hose is bendy, a bit tricky though. But much easier with it off as the head is looking right at you. I always check both sides 3 times to make sure its reading right. Very simple. What gauge are you using?
joewest
Its a gauge used for cars I dunno what brand. I tried to screw it in with the tank on and I can't get it in. Bike runs good and all just wondering what the compression is at. Thanks

Dalton
I use a Snap On motorcycle compression tester. I can do the testing with the tank on. Wide open throttle. ..kick until the needle stops...usually 20 or more kicks.
