Ok. So i bought an '87 shee that was the first one evr in my area here in arkansas. My dream bike as a kid. Ive had a professional shop do all my work. 40 ovr bore wiseco forged pistons. Hot rods crank stock stroke vforce 3 reeds cpi in frame drag pipes completely rebuilt carbs and milled head putn out 174 psi compression. Brand new clutch all new gaskets. Uses no coolant or oil from the clutch no leaks of ne kind. Ive been running ethanol free 93 and am doing my best to get.sum race fuel at the moment. Idles perfect but in midrange it hits a point and.loses power and u have to jus hammer into it to get it to climb up into the power band and seems to lose the right cylinder half the time it does not fire. And seems.to run a lil richer on the right cylinder. My professional shop tells me nothing is wrong with it its not.the gas and its perfect. Y so much hesitation and losing fire on the right cylinder?

My professional shopped blamed it on me mixing my oil 40:1 and told me to run 50:1 so i hesitantly did on my brand new motor and seemed to help a little bit but not much.

Im not completely sure. I had the biggest nd supposedly best shop around here do it and i gave them an unlimited budget tld them i wanted it to scream but keep it stock-ish to preserve the history of the bike. I saw the compression guage tho and have re checked it myself and still at 174 psi. Im thinkin/hoping i jus need race fuel? Would that cause all the hesitation?

Might have some electonic probs I agree...I would run a mix of VP110 and 91 ethanol free fuel 1:1 ratio with that comp. and also a 32:1 fuel oil mix...Why did your builder say to run such a oil lean mix 40:1?

40:1 is not an unsafe lean mix. All my bikes run 40:1 with no problem. It's preference. Do the math on a quart of oil for 10 gallons at 32:1 and then 40:1. Which cost more and how far does that quart go? what is the benefit of 32:1 other than more smoke and similar lubing characteristics.

He wanted me to run it leaner bc it was smoking a lil heavy when u first start it up. Clears up after u run it for a bit tho. He basically tld me i was an idiot that ddn kno how to mix oil

Last weekend we loaded up to go ride and got to the gas station and they were out of ethanol free 93 so i had to try 89 and ran HORRIBLE. Buddy happened to have octane booster and ran 10x better when it was added but still ran like crap

So let me get this straight. Running premium in a 2 stroke with 40:1 mix actually makes a difference ? I just don't get the benefits of running a more expensive petrol.. I put regular in my skidoo 583 and it runs just fine.

Do you have any porting done to the engine? The flat spot might just be how that engine runs with drag pipes.  If it were me I wouldn't run it with less than 50-50 race - prem. I won't give my thoughts as to you running it on reg gas. I don't think I'd run a stocker on reg.

Ive been trying everyday to get race fuel this week. I live nxt to a drag strip nd they have it. Getn ahold of them during the week is a different story
