chad06
On my 99 banshee when ever it runs and the kick is folded in it rattles or makes a ringing sound. What is the cause of this and how do I fix it? I know I've read stuff on this type of problem before but I couldn't find any help when I serched for the articles thanks
Cotton eyed Joe
Its caused by the wearing of an o-ring between the swiveled parts of your kickstarter. You can take that oring to Lowes Hardware and get a new one. Its just loose is all.
boonman
The spring and ball inside the kicker is also part of the problem....
Holyman
Here's what I do... http://forums.bansheehq.com/viewtopic.php?...ight=kicker+mod If you want to send it to me, I'll do it for $5 but you have to pay shipping both ways. ledofthezep
Or...for a quick fix,...rap some rubber bands around the base where the shifter folds in & out,...should help, but with the rubber bands, you may need to repeat doing this for a while. The o-ring trick has been working for me for about 6 months now.

I want to do this mod but cant get the kicker off the knuckle. Any tips for getting the screw out? Also is the stock spring used or do i need to get a different spring too? Holyman
The philips head screw is almost always messed up. If I can't unscrew it, I use a sharp chisel and put it in one of the screw slots. I angle the chisel to match the angle of the cone or countersink on the back of the screw. Usually I can chisel it around and make it unscrew. Drilling it out is not really possible unless you drill a small hole in the opposite end {the threaded end} of the screw and then try the screwdriver or chisel treatment. Don't try to drill it out from the head side or you'll never get it out.
