Rhdguy88
Okay I'm a little stressed out about a situation I am having purchased 97 banshee Four weeks ago from out-of-state, brought it home in the issue I was told was an needed carburetor work. This is not the case I had the urge to pull the motor out, and when I remove the cylinders I found a detonated piston on the right side cylinder. Last week I redid the whole top end with new cylinders and 65.25 MM pistons. I took my carbs and dismantled them and let them soak over night in parts solvent. I have a 27.5 Pilot and a 280 main jet. I'm learning as I go but I am not new to engine rebuilding as I have worked on cars for years. When I first started the bike After the rebuild the right side cylinder was running perfectly while the left side woodcut in and out. After trying to fix it and running up and down the street to warm it up, the tables have turned and now the left is strong and the right is weak. As I am pressed for cash I would like some assistance on how to fix this or if anyone lives in Southern Connecticut and would be willing to give a hand I don't mind dishing out a few dollars for the assistance someone please help thank you. Surfrjag
Did you check float height on the carbs?
Finch
slides in in right direction with cut outs toward the filters? tube in place between the carbs?
Rhdguy88
slides in in right direction with cut outs toward the filters? tube in place between the carbs? Slides only go in 1 way because of guide stem correct?

joey83
Check compression on both sides. If that's ok I'd try to figure out of it's fuel problem or ??? To shoot from the hip--- Leaking intake manifold around cross over tube, right side carb dirty, reed on right side etc etc. But I would check compression first. Does it run better when you choke it or partially choke it? If so it's starving for fuel. Really need more info. Good luck
rjdgriff
Make sure that you have the slides in the proper carbs, that can do all sorts of stupid things... Swap slides and see if it helps
