banshee#44 Posted March 28, 2013 Report Share Posted March 28, 2013 Alright guys I took the clutch side cover off and everything looks great although what I did notice is my shift shaft had about 1/4 inch of play back and forth . When it's pulled out away from the bike . I can shift the bike into gears . When it's pushed in it will not shift into any gear . Can someone explain to me what has happened and how to fix it ? hoppedupandcutdown Posted March 28, 2013 Report Share Posted March 28, 2013 It will pull out until the lever on the left side hits the stator cover. A white plastic bushing spaces it when pushed in. hoppedupandcutdown Posted March 28, 2013 Report Share Posted March 28, 2013 Take a straight edge across the case and that spot surrounded by weld on the shaft and see if it pushes in from there, it should not. that will be where it operates. hoppedupandcutdown Posted March 28, 2013 Report Share Posted March 28, 2013 The white bushing holds it from going in. the shaft just goes from the right side to the left side and touches nothing in between. pull the clutch basket and it will slide clear out. I can't do the arrows, but the screw with the slot for a screw driver. There's a nut to lock it down, then a tab to fold over to hold it tight.
