stroked
hey guys im having cam at red line build me a 10 mil supercub. i need some help (advice) on some things. trying to get bike done before engine comes back.this will be silverlake play bike drag race only on alky. 1st on is i just bought +10 swing arm and i need to upgrade my paddles. im a bigger guy so if im thinking right my weight will make them bite better. so if that is true i shouldn't need a alot of paddle. i was thinking 10 -12 paddle. i want it to bite but pull upstairs to. so what do you recommend tire size, paddle count, and roll out? do you want some tire spin to build tire speed? 2nd what gearing would you recommend? also any idea how many link the +10 swinger is for chain? 3rd what length rear marvin shaw should i be looking for no link +10 swinger. and any other advice on supercub i am gonna ask cam to for his advise on set up but just wanted to see what you guys think. thanks in advance i do appreciate you taking time to help. locogato11283
I would definitely let Cam make his recommendations for the motor. As far as the sand, we have a ton of Michigan guys here who can tell you exactly what you need to run for the conditions at Silver Lake. I am going to add Silver Lake in your title to help your views.
BANSHEE HP
play bike drag race only on alky sounds like: i want john force's funny car and be able to drive it to work monday mourning. +10 is on the short side of what everyone runs, +12-14 is the average. 14 paddle extreme in 72-78''ro either on a 8'' or 10'' rim gearings going to depend on the tire, the trans(1-5 or 2-5), and rider weight, 16 on the front 42-44 maybe up to 46 on the rear. the rear shock is probably going to be in the 13.5'' area with the option to extend the shock at the heim joint another .5'' of so
trickedcarbine
Bill has just about ball parked it. If...... The 14's are a bit much tire you can always learn to tune the clutch to deal with it. I seem to think guys are getting pretty good results messing with the clutches on these things. Plus on a motor like the Super cub you will be moving a lot of heat through those pipes and a little clutch slip helps that process so it seems to come on a bit nicer once the motor is under full load. I don't have a lot of drag experience but it's a little something I've noticed in my minimal experience.

sandbum80
That's a good size swingarm for the dunes here, make sure your pipes have silencers with sparkys (something make shift just to get trough gate, I had a sparky I just stuck on with a clamp and pulled off once out there). Trans I would go with a 2-5 n down, I would shoot for 14 stags 22" on a 8in rim. Gearing you are going to have to go out there and just play with it make sure you bring a few gears because every weekend is going to change sometimes 300ft sometimes 800ft. I always run a no link marvin setup to my weight. make sure you run a thumb throttle out there.
Wheelman Chassis
bigger guy, with 120hp on a +12 arm IMO a 14 stag extreme is to much tire unless in a real short roll out. Another part to the puzzle, is this a stock chassis? Here are my two suggestions: assuming the arm stays +12 1. stock frame - +4 in front : 12 pdl 72 RO stag extremes/14 pdl 72 RO non stag ext , 16/44(if under 235lbs)16/46 (if over 240 lbs)gearing, leaving in second, shock setup stiff but to slightly say on launch with the swingarm level to ground. 2. +6-+10 out front: 76RO 14 pdl non stag ext/72-74RO 14 pdl stag extremes, same gearing and shock stiffness but swinger pointed slightly up hill(very minimal). shanYE west
if its a +`12 link style swing arm.. 13.5 will be too long. imo. My stock chassis 421 with a +12 link swing arm was setup with a 12.25 shaw and 13 pdl extremes 72ro. I was 230lbs
