SlowerThanYou
Well, I guess we are pushing the limit with the DMX. I look at it a little differently, not that I'm right & we'll find out soon. We leave in 1st gear taking the launch stress off of 2nd. Plus with our clutch set-up we get some cushioning on the shifts. Clutch tuning really helps to limit the shock to drivetrain parts.
Joejr915
So you don't run a billet 2nd in your dmx I launch in 1st also bit just a little a feared to break when click to 2nd I run 500ft
Crazykane
My 24mill has broke a billet 2nd gear. Told to go back to stock that a billet gear doesn't flex and brittle. Only ran it once with stock gear. I'm on a suspended chassis and is 14 3/4 out the back so it spins.
n2otoofast4u
24mil + stock gears = short lived....JMO Id look into a billet gear and welded drive setup personally. I've seen those live in dirt on some damn big motors.

That's coming in Apr. & I'm pretty sure them 84" RO, 16 paddle staggered 2 layer Kevlar Rippers will test the stock gears. From what I've seen of your guy's type racing, your spinning the tires pretty good in the early gears. That would make me feel a little easier about using a stock gears. Crazykane
I run Kevlar 14 rippers 81to. But only been out once and I'm sure it will come apart soon lol
SlowerThanYou
I run Kevlar 14 rippers 81to. But only been out once and I'm sure it will come apart soon lol Our motor is much smaller, that should help. Plus, we aren't launching in 2nd gear. That's a whole bunch of smack hitting that known weak link. Whether it's 1st or 2nd gear launch it's tough with both, but a tuned clutch will take away/soften that smack to the gears, chain & etc.; it helps cut down on the carnage. Anyway, the stock cut transmission is going to get its workout in Apr. I'll post the results good or bad.
