EZ SHIFT STAR DETENT BEARING MOD KIT BY MULL ENGINEERING

You would be nuts to swap out for a 2nd gear set and not cut the tranny. That's a lot of tear down and messing with the tranny to swap a part you really don't need for your motor and probably could of spent that money toward a cut tranny that will be a performance increase you would definitely notice.

Maybe if you were 400lbs and launching it on mega paddles you could break 2nd, but really it's not worth your while. With the average 4 mil, I bet you would snap something in the crank before you mess up the tranny gears.

I was going to do it because I already split the cases, and disassembled my main and countershafts for inspection.. I'm going to do the straight cuts though, because I already got a complete hinsons clutch set-up for it (Basket, inner hub, pressure plate, chariot clutch pusher, barnett fibers and steels)  and think straight cuts are the way to go..

Ok I guess, just doesn't make sense. If its apart and you are already going to do all the overkill stuff, why not cut the tranny? Especially if you are putting a halfway potent motor together you are just gonna assemble it and ride it wishing you did the trans when it was apart.

What motor combo are you doing, and why are your reasons for not wanting to cut the trans?

Not to mention the gear set you don't need costs more then the cut tranny you probably do need or will at least definitely benefit from.

I used the shift pro spring. Was too light for my liking.. Stocker was too stiff.. I used the spring that jeff @ FAST sells and its perfect

Good to know, I've been wondering if there was a happy medium. I only liked my stock spring on my stock modded star with a shift pro

4mil long rod, 65.00mm bore, 20cc domes, aggressive dune port. Is a cut trans trailable? I have heard of people having issues in the trail..

Im not talking about an over ride. There are ways to improve a stock transmission and still trail ride it. You would just need a stock cut. Also known as Pro Mod, EZ cut, EZ shift, Trail Mod, Trail Cut. There are about as many names for them as there are guys cutting them. Most guys just remove every other dog and call It good, but there is so much more to it then that. They are not all created equel. My bike had about every shift mod done and it still wouldn't shift quite the way I wanted it to. So I ordered up a Pro Mod from WCR. It is fucking amazing. If I shift it right I can almost shif it like an over ride. I back load the hell out of it with engine braking in the corners and hard downshifting for setting up. I beat the hell out of it and it's awesome. Problem is I am done dealing with WCR and I would reccomend you try someone else as well. Camatv cuts stellar stock trannies, Gary (sheerider1026) is rumored to do a nice stock style, and Brad Tyson who is a site sponsor does them pretty good and fast as well. Don't let any one fool you in to thinking all you can do is take out every other dog.

I thought a cut trans was an over-ride? I have only been messing with Banshees for 2 years, bear with me.. If thats the case that I can run a cut trans in the woods.. Tyson is not that far from my house..

$150.00

For a trail cut, nothing really fancy, just something that shifts good... he also said to switch back to my stock shift-star.. LOL Anyone need a cascade shift-star?
