So Cal Suspension
Matt, didn't they make j-arm frames from 1987 to 1990, and a-arm frames from 1991 and up? Yeah, probably. Regardless, my point was there are very minor differences between the years.

jlaits
96 frame with 97 motor. Yellow tank and rad cover with red front and purple rear fenders. The trick is to paint front and rear fenders black for better aerodynamics.
trickedcarbine
No shit I thought white was more aerodynamic
Fourwheeler13
Thanks for the help guys, I found what I think is an 87 based on the colors, but the 96 is very similar in color so im not 100% sure on that yet (just seen pictures). The guy is asking $1000. It leaks some oil and the plastic is in really rough shape (cut off the front fenders and one side on the back is all cracked up). He said it was raced for a while but he isnt sure on what mods it has. He said he does have 2 sets of pipes for it as well. What do you think on that price? Should I try to talk him lower, or is that a good price for the condition? Thanks
hoppedupandcutdown
Post up the pics...87 j arm - 96 A arm. I'd hope for it to be a 96, just cuz an 87 is OLD, unless it's REALLY nice. Here's what I look for, bolts and nuts that are rounded off or broken, if a guy doesn't have the right hand tools for basic maintenance, it probably has had NO maintenance. If you plan to night ride see if the lights are not broken off, just more immediate expense same with sprockets, tires, brakes. All that to determine initial cost. ClayAiken
The colors from 98 are pretty good.
