oldskool
I bought a set of used sb cpi exhaust or was told sb. They came with two pair of stingers. Two different pairs. The right side went on with no problems once I figured out which stinger to use. The left side would not fit with matching stinger. Can someone tell me If I have one sb and one bb exhaust. First pic is right side. second pic is left side(welds are different)
Zillaguy
Banshee frames are slightly offset, i didn't notice it until I restored mine last year... I thought the same thing with a set of FMF golds the left and right pipes are shaped differently, it looks like two different styles of pipes but are not.. I thought the same thing with a set of FMF golds the left and right pipes are shaped differently, it looks like two different styles of pipes but are not.. According to CPI website, the sb and bb stingers are different and from what I see I'm running sb stinger on the right(good fit). On the left. I'm running bb stinger. In what way wont it fit, like not slide on or not bolt up? I'm saying the left side will not fit with sb stinger. Shouldn't the stingers be a matched pair. Here's a pic of sb and bb stinger
oldskool
I have never had cpi's. In my third pic in first post, it looks like two different pipes. IDK
special06shee
The diameter of the sting tube are the same! The shape(angles) of the stinger tubes are different from left to right! Are you sure you actually have the stinger tube mounted to the silencer correctly?

Here's a pic of sb and bb stinger I believe the center one goes on the RH exhaust and the two ouside ones are for the LH side. You can clearly see the one singer has had a melted outerwear, and the LH side hugs the filters.
jbooker82
My CPI Standard Bores RH Side has plenty of air filter clearance and only has one weld where it bends
jbooker82
LH side is a lot closer. You cant see the double welds because I use a cascade heat wrap on the LH stinger tube.
oldskool
Jbooker, Thanks a lot! I got it just like yours. Must be good to go. I got it backwards in a earlier post about which stinger is which, but CPI website list those stingers as right one BB, left one SB
2strokeshees
Glad you figured it out, did you end up going with the spare stingers I sent with it, jbookers setup looked exactly like mine. Make sure you get some wrap on that left side or you will do what I did and that outerwear will suck to the stinger and melt it right away. Are you enjoying them? Valadezj
the way you tell the sb from the bb is by measuring the end of the expansion chamber( not the stinger) if it measures roughly 1 inch they are small bore, if the measure 1 1/8 inch they are big bore, Got this info straight from CPI
