I have a ported 421 with 35 PWK carbs. 19 cc domes, vf3, and CPI in frames. My pilot is a 48. I have my cel needle 2nd clip from the top and 152 mains. I have my timing set at+5. I am at sea level on the Oregon coast. I used to burn VP c-12 witch is 108 octane and now I stick with 110. I personally would stay away from avgas. Just my opinion.

Damn, not sure how I jacked up that last post so bad. I'm pretty sure I'm way fat, but it's got around 50 pilots in it and I think 170 mains. It was 40 and raining last time I rode it. Was pretty flat on top but didn't feel like rejetting it. Lazy.

sick pipes bro ,,,,,,,,,, the regilar pwk likes a rich pilot like a 48p or 50p on a cub, but the airstrikers are different they like lean pilots on my bike i put a 48p and could even hold an idle i ended up with a 38p on stock cyl 4mil, buit now im installing a ported cub by wildcard racing and im not sure if i should stay were im at and see what happens. Im at 38p and 152m

ok so final go tmy cub put togethor and started it last night, if fired right up, i went up a little on jetting from my stock cylinder 4mil, I started it with a 155m and 38p , i had a 152m and 38p on my stock cyl setup. well i started the bike and its rich to the point it bearly hold and idle then shuts of, WHY WOULD A BIGGER MOTOR NEED LESS FUEL?  Should i just go back down on my main, to a 152, i also have a 150m to try

Bigger motors suck more air thru the carbs. This creates more suction pressure on the jets. (Known as signal strength) This added suction causes extra suction on the jets so they flow more fuel.

(Picture sucking harder on a straw. Your going to get more drink up the straw than if you sucked lighter.)    NOTE TO ALL YOU COMICS WAITING TO POUNCE: SUCK IT!  :shootself:

So don't get caught up in thinking bigger motors needs bigger jets. The smaller the carbs, the more this effect can take place. Trust how the bike feels. If it feels crazy rich...then it is.

Your exactly right. I could go leaner if I wanted to but I am going to stay right where I am at with my jetting. If I change anything I night lean out my needle one notch or drop the Main to a 1

50. My plugs are a little on the dark side.
