Hey guys

I have a 03 Banshee with 66.25 pistons , stock crank and stock ports. I also have a Pro Design Cool Head with 20cc Domes , stock carbs with stock reeds. For pipes I have CPI with Silencer's. I live in Miami and my compression is 165 so I have to run AVGass 100ll. I run 32/1 PENNZOIL MARINE® PREMIUM PLUS 2-CYCLE SYNTHETIC BLEND OIL.  With stock gearing , I was wondering what can i do to get more Top End ? Is it possible to Port my Cylinders ? Or is the Bore to Big ?

Thanks

you'd be throwing away your money if you port em right now.  Depending on how much your looking to spend....you could go like loco suggested and get different aftermarket cylinders to make more power, or you could also go with pod style air filters, reeds, and +4 timing.  Those little things will need to be done to make the most power on aftermarket cylinders anyways.

Thanks for all of your replies. I forgot to mention. I do have Pods and +4 on timing. As for the marine oil. I like the smell better then Klotz which I also have at home. I also have Hi Flow impeller and Trail Tech Vapor. For Speed , Temp and RPM.

I can't speak for other builders. But, I won't port a set of last bore cylinders for a customer. Bad investment in my opinion. As earlier posts said, look into the additional supporting mods and look into some different oil. Marine oil is designed for engines with a much cooler operating temperature. As for porting you could(should) look into new/er cylinders first. You can go aftermarket or find a set of low bore stockers. Nice looking bike btw

If you have clearance in the domes for the current pistons don't mess wih them. Check it with a L shaped piece of solder down the spark plug hole.make sure it goes over to the edge of the dome.

Also, if your current cylinders were at 66, you could nickasil them, but you are past that so it is time to find a set of cheap stockers on low bore or find something aftermarket. You already have many of the mods to support a ported motor.

Quit running marine oil. As stated it is for much lower operating temps and not suited to the abuse of most atv's. Try some dominator, anything castor, klotz, something for ATV's or dirtbikes.

Thank you for your reply . Ill pull the Head off this weekend and check . What Oil will mix up good with 100LL AVGas ? As for the Cylinders I'm looking around for some but that will be when these Fail . I know 2 Bikes down here in Miami ( Sleepers ) that are Bored to 68 with stock Cylinders and Drag Ported . With a stock Crank and they are a BEAST .

You can put a new sleeve to make them 68mm but its a waist of money , a set of nicely ported cylinders will run better set up right, so buy newer cylinders and have one of the site sponsors port them brandon at wildcard can hook you up. Also putting that big of a sleeve will reduce your water passages on your cylinders and affect cooling.

If you have money to spare go 68mm cub and fly
