mhoksch
I have a bad intermittent miss in the high rpms, I'm going to try replacing my coil to start with. Are there any good aftermarket coils or should I just get oem? Sent from my PB99400 using Tapatalk
locogato11283
Have you changed plugs?
mhoksch
Ya, fresh plugs and new flywheel. Trying to get in touch with Gary to get a new stator too. It's a new motor, pipes and carbs. Runs good down low but had trouble getting into the pipes and misses bad once it does Sent from my PB99400 using Tapatalk
locogato11283
Carbs, jetting, temp, elevation? Are your grounds good?
mhoksch
Pwk 35's 50/155 4th clip 20-30 degrees 900ft. If it was ground I wouldn't run at all right? Sent from my PB99400 using Tapatalk
BeeCanBanshee
Test it first takes 5min. That way your not wasting money. Test your caps and wires as well. It dorsnt take much time to test your electricals. And like loco said check grounds the coil has to have good contact with the frame, the mounts on the coil act as a ground
mhoksch
Ya, I jsut figured since I was replacing everything else I might as well do the whole electrical system too.
locogato11283
That main sounds pretty small to me considering the temps. What motor is this? I think you should put 162 in there and try that first.
mhoksch
It's a 370LR, dune port, +4 timing, VF2, PD coolhead (not sure on dome size) Shearer SB IF, 35 PWK's, Just got the motor back from Redline and put it in. Cam sent me a 150 and 155 for mains. I'm assuming it's electrical and not jetting because when I pulled one plug out it was wet, I figured that meant my issue was with the ignition. locogato11283
Not necessarily. Does it have good spark when you check it?
mhoksch
Spark looks good when I check, but low rpms are fine. It's only when I hit high rpms that I have problems Sent from my PB99400 using Tapatalk
locogato11283
Change the jets. It's your job to tune the bike. Install 162 mains and see what happens.
mhoksch
Ok, I'll try the jets when I get home from work tonight. Do you think A 165 might work? Only asking because I have 165's sitting there but would have to drive 45min to get some 162's
So Cal Suspension
If you have a ricky or RM stator, that's exactly the symptoms they cause...
