I dont disagree what soever, my issue is that the topic has been discussed atleast 4 times in the last month. If i have a question on a topic i go to the top of the forum and search. I typed in "template" and there were 126 results. If this guy really wants to port his own motor then i suggest you start doing homework, use the search button and READ. There is some really good information troughout the forum whether i agree with it or not.

I have the race logic templates. I used them on my girlfriends cylinders. My personal cylinders are professionally ported. Now, the templates are okay. They are good for a basic port that will get you a few HP. Don't expect your shoulders to be ripped out. With the templates they only give you a intake and exhaust. The intake I feel is a little extreme with how narrow they make the bridge. The exhaust is a good design, it raises the exhaust a very little bit and widens it. They don't touch the transfers. This is where a little studying comes into play. A lot of power can be made in the transfers. You can also lose a lot in the transfers. I will not tell you how I did the transfers. I put in my research time and a lot of it. I barley got to ride the bike but when it comes up in 4th and I have to slam the rear brake I think it'll do pretty good.

Now go do research and make sure your fully committed to doing this porting. It's not a few hours and a few beers type of job.

I tried porting a set of cylinders myself just for the heck of it and becasue i had an extra set laying around, i do not recommend it the gains are minimal and unless you got tons of cash to buy 3 or 4 sets of jugs to practice i wouldnt do it. You are better off sending you jugs out and spend 350 bucks and be done with it.  HERR JUGS FTW, Kevin is a great guy, when it comes to customer service he's the man.

what is your knowledge with 2t engines ? what tools were you using ?

you dont have to be a engineer to get good results with a home made portjob but you do need to have a fair amount of knowledge. and without the proper tools you might as well stick a fork in it.

those 2 reasons are why first timers dont succeed. they have almost no knowledge, and theyre using a $25 walmart dremel. the engine doesnt run much better than it did before so they give up.

read some books, ask questions, look at pictures, buy a decent set of tools. then youll be headed in the right direction
