I see spark arrestors are now required and my bike has been running non-SA silencers in the dunes since '97. I have no idea why they would check you I have been pulled over many times and have never had anyone say something about that. Oregon dunner Posted March 6, 2013 Report Share Posted March 6, 2013 I have never been sound checked on the oregon dunes since I started riding there back when I was 13. I'm 33 now. I'm guess I am just lucky. Most of the time I got nailed was for missing flags that broke going through the trees on my dirtbikes or banshee and I did get checked for the atv card. J Whitehurst Posted March 11, 2013 Report Share Posted March 11, 2013 They used to be very strict on the sound. If you are making an effort and pack your silencers, they leave you alone. I have never heard mention of spark arrestors required in the dunes and have never been checked for them. Get your safety card and carry it with you, they will ticket you for not having it on your person. It seems like the only time they check sound a bunch is on the busy holiday weekends.
