mhoksch
I just got my new motor in and this is going to be my last weekend that I'm able to ride on the ice. I bought some used SB IF Shearers and I'm having a tough time getting them to fit. Can you guys post some pics of what you did for front and rear mounts and clearing the carbs/filters? I've got BOSS 1 piece intake and it pushes my carbs up and back about an inch which i think is a big part of my problem. I'll order a new intake next week but I need to make this work for today. sprinklerman
UPP intakes will help. Other than that i didnt do anything to clear my 39's. Had to use heat wraps though.
dirtydownunder
mine fit fine around the filters, just had to space the head pipes out a tad to relieve tension on the pipes.
mhoksch
thanks, just got back in from the garage. I was just super tired last night when I was trying. The guy who sold me the pipes had the silencers on the stingers wrong. Everything is mocked up fine now, just need to get some longer bolts and spacers. Going to go rock climbing then come home and shred some ice today!!!
wacko2000
Mine didnt fit at all, pipes cracked from rubbing on the head,(one ride) stingers melted my outerwears and melted my rear plastics After that had to make 1/2 spacers for the front hangers and I don't remember what I did about the rears- O I remember now I sold the pipes Do some research this isn't anything new, Is pipes perform perform perform but they fit like shit, from what I've heard and read his newer pipes fit better maybe he tweaked a few things !! But maybe I'm out of line and that's not what we are talking about here Good luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
mhoksch
It wasn't me who sold them to you was it? Well I wasn't going to mention any names... They look and fit great now that I got the cans on the right stingers I ended up spacing the front mounts out about 3/4" and had to take my POS grab bar off because it was too thick. vulvafan537240
I had to space my stator side header pipe out about 10mm to give some room for the head. Other than that no problems. I did use header wrap for the stingers so they wouldn't burn my pods though.
WINDYCITYJOHN400
Lol no shit?! HAHAHAHAHAHA, that was why they were such a tight fit. My bad. Well that solves a long standing debate! User error is the cause for all the issues. Gotta get the right silencer on the right stinger pipe. That's the test....If your pipes are on and fit...your fit to own them. If they don't fit.....maybe you need a YouTube video or something. LOL

vulvafan537240
Kinda. Mine doesn't look like the chrome oven glove. It's a fabric wrap. Cheaper and you can get it at a parts store.

trickedcarbine
I use this really bitchin' stuff I found in all the DYNO cells for a chrysler plant I liquidated. It goes on all their harnesses for the exhaust and egt probes. It's really low profile and keeps the heat from even melting my outer wears. LowlyOilBurner
I use this fire jacket stuff I got at the local hydraulic shop: It's the orange colored stuff around the fuel line, and on the exhaust pipe in the upper right of the photo: It's available in various diameters and withstands heat up to like 1500f. Not the cheapest stuff but it works great.
