locogato11283
FINALLY! Someone took the time to set the pipes up right by cutting out the necessary frame rails. Wait a minute, is that at GT Performance?
wacko2000
Looks pretty good, what's the clearance from the pipes to the a-arms? What radiator do you plan on running?? Good move running a aftermarket rear shock, you can route the pipes properly without them look like a jacked up maze!! Post some better pics
wfobasheeboy
Right on man looking good. More pic please.
mlarkin_09
Wait a minute, is that at GT Performance? Yep he is doing the engine fab and design for me. When I started on this I decided it was going to have pipes that looked good or I wasn't going to do it.
locogato11283
Yea, I recognized the shop. Garrett will do a nice job. It's looking good so far. I'd like to see it when it's done.

Good move running a aftermarket rear shock, you can route the pipes properly with making them look like some jacked up maze!! Post some better pics The clearance between the stock a arms and the pipe is close and would probably work if i wanted to run them. I am going with a set of a arms built by GT that will give me some extra room so the pipes will be easier to take on and off and allow me to run different pipes without hacking them up. As for the radiator I made a wooden mockup out of some 3/4 plywood and had TCP performance out of Rexburg, ID build it. I will put some pics of it up when i get it from them they are telling me it will be a couple weeks before they get it made
wacko2000
Tell him to clean that shop!!! holy shit lol Everything is looking good though- he wasn't afraid to cut up the frame alittle in the front area which is a good thing I have a Yfzshee also one day ill get a thread going Your gonna love it, it's so balanced so much fun to ride and it's a wheelie monster- front end is so light and it really is very very easy to ride Doesn't beat ya up at all Id like to see some pictures of the front motor mount I never got around to weighing mine, but I'm real curious on the difference between the hybrid and a YFZ
sprinklerman
Looking nice! I REALLY like how the pipes aren't all flared out like an afterthought , but actuality fit the frame nice and tight.

Dicklez
Great build bud! I hate to be the guy to give you some shit but this might save you some headache down the road. Only reason I know this is because I have a few under my belt and have learned the hard way. The motor looks too high in the frame. The center of your sprocket is higher then center of the swing arm pivot tube. Doesnt have to be dead nuts but looks a little high You wont have a nice transition off the chain slider and when the chain is coming back it looks like its gonna be riding on the bottom of the pivot tube. I very well could be wrong but just something to keep in mind.

I very well could be wrong but just something to keep in mind. It will be fine. That's just about where my Hybrid bike motor is and I've never had an issue. I generally like to see them as close to the pivot bolt as possible and pretty much inline, but it's not going to break the build. As long as the proper sliders and rollers are used he won't have an issue. This build will be by far the best YFZ conversion I've seen to date simply because of the time taken to do it right. Garrett knows his shit and probably had a lot of good ideas for this build.
