SlowerThanYou
The motor is not going to make it to the Dyno. K&T had to put in sound deadener in because of noise complaints. It might be done next week, but I go back to work the end of next week. So, no dyno for the motor anytime soon. The plan has changed. Dome Valley, AZ. is having a T&T June 22 we are going there to test. We have a brand new OEM stator & new OEM ignition we are putting in for the event. Then we plan on racing in Kingman AZ. July 5 & 6.
SlowerThanYou
I dont doubt the times, I believe all 3 slips are from Dome, where I have been 4 or 5 times now and it continually turns out tremendous numbers. Bikes REALLY like that place, and by all rights its one of if not the best surfaced track Ive been to. I think for some its hard to see them making those MPH with a tire that by rights is too big for the motor. BUT they are using their clutch setups to go the opposite way most do. Both ways are effective, but far different in their setups. I am curious as to how their theory and their application transfer over to the bigger motor, where I for one think its harder to use the setups they are doing now on bigger motors but with tire technology of today it very well may be fine. Its been several years now since Ive been around the ricans but I know slowerthanyou is teamed up with them so Im assuming that they will be able to help out with early stage setup with the larger motor. If there is one thing that we will ALL agree on, the bigger the motor, the more work you gotta do to make them go fast. Like I said I'll share some of the information good or bad. I've stated it a few times, on this DMX. I will provide the results good or bad. Seems like most of it has been bad. Go figure, I would of thought going to a 200cc bigger motor & a 40 lb. lighter rigid chassis. Would get us better times than our old set-up, the 1st time or 2nd time out with it. Well, the broken crank did tell us something. While it was tore down, I Iooked at the bottom of the pistons. They looked new, that along with our plug readings. The motor was building no heat. I guess you can put to much Alky thru a motor & kill power. We were hoping to get all of this figured out on the dyno, but that plan changed. We hope with the new stator & ignition. Plus, leaning the motor out we get some better results next time out. We plan on leaving the clutch set-up alone, because we think that's close. I'm sure all of this will probably change, like it has so far. We are finding out this bigger motor is a set-up/tuning challenge. We were spoiled with our old set-up, but we'll get this DMX figured out.
locogato11283
We had to make a ton of changes to our bikes when going from 10mm Cub to the 18DMs. Tires, gearing and suspension all changed drastically. I'm just glad I don't have to fuck with alcohol. At least our fuel has stayed consistent. We also don't do any real clutch tuning. We just load the lockup with weight and go. - HMFIC

Guys kept telling me it was a waste but I noticed drastic differences between fuels and their tuning capabilities when going to C12/14 then stepping up to VP113 oxygenated and even tried the Q16. That stuff really let's you wick the timing and compression up but I think I like the VP113 the best for my current set up.

I asked Cameron the other day about running it but he said to stick with the 110. Honestly, we don't need anymore power. These new motor setups are fucking night and day difference from what they were before. We've had good luck and no issues with the current fuel/comp/timing so I really don't need to be fucking with anything anyway.

The 22nd was cancelled, now Kingman is cancelled. I'm not holding my breath for Dome Valley on July 5th. They cancelled last minute in June. I hope they run, it's one of the best tracks in the country. I hope to have some better results from the DMX this time out.
SlowerThanYou
The track owner's son put a gopro on our quad last night. I hope to find the other videos we saw besides this butt crack one. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=4313925504647&set=vb.1782227223&type=2&theater Two photos of our quad from Dome Valley. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151774193002160&set=a.371903377159.194896.262823152159&type=1&theater
Crazykane
Did you have any luck with it? Looks like you have a lot of paddle on it.
SlowerThanYou
Did you have any luck with it? Looks like you have a lot of paddle on it. No luck with it, our old 443 gas cub was a better combo. I'll explain a little more later in the week.
Crazykane
My friend has a 10mill DMX. From the dune to the track no bar went a 3.80@86. Suspended chassis with shocks all the way around. I know these things can make power

SlowerThanYou
Better combo? As in you liked that motor better? Ever get it to K&T for Dyno time? Curious to see #'s I'm being pretty hard on the DMX. I'm sure it will out perform the our old 443 gas cub some day. It was hard to beat the old cub & we might be bringing it out of retirement. Things are up in the air for what we are going to race in MI. Labor day weekend. There's something wrong in the DMX combo & the motor is coming out this weekend. It will be going to K&T the following weekend. I'm leaving it there until it's right. They have been great through this whole testing ordeal & they assured me they will get it figured out. My friend has a 10mill DMX. From the dune to the track no bar went a 3.80@86. Suspended chassis with shocks all the way around. I know these things can make power I guess that would be a big bore DMX? Ours is a 80mm bore but we are looking for 60s-70s depending on the jockey weight. K&T went 3.50s on motor, but that's them, LOL! Looking forward to seeing further info... We are still coming to MI. to race at WMSD Labor Day weekend. Bringing a stock chassis asphalt bike converted to a 300' set-up. It will have our old 443 gas cub motor in it or a 535 on alky.
Crazykane
Yes its a big bore. I'm sure it would run some good numbers if it has a bar and a set of tires. His 72ro 12 paddle can't be enough lol
