Hazzard Racing Customs
i can tell you ive ran the kenda claws and they hook like a mother fucker in the trails i really couldnt find a terrain they couldnt handle and they lasted forever i rode them two seasons and sold them for good money because they still had a ton of life left in them im not saying there the hardest hooking tire out there but i can tell you that i loved them for sure hope this helps wes
Hazzard Racing Customs
on a side not though the matching fronts are just a bit aggressive for the banshee in my opinion
bansheedemon
i dont plan on matching fronts. but thanks for input. i really like the kenda claws but never had any actual user expirience them. i heard they wore out quick. but if they wear slow thats what im leaning towards then i think. bluebanshee98
i have ambush rears and i think they hook great!
locogato11283
i have ambush rears and i think they hook great! The Ohtsu MR501 hook harder. That's a fact. Both are good tires but there is a clear winner in the traction department.

The Ambush should last longer due simply to more lugs on the ground. I haven't worn either set out but I'm guessing Ambush to last longer based on what I've seen. I would still run the MR501 over Ambush.
HolySheet
My trail tires are cut Carlisle Turf Tamers. I didn't cut them straight, I just made my own pattern and they work great. My Raptor has Ambush rears and I like them a lot.
bluepartsman
Thread is a few months old I know but, Tyler why were the Maxxis tires classified as “junk”? I have never run anything but them and was happy considering the little other experience I had. I went from the original razr rears, to the razr II now the II are night and day better. A lot of people say the 6 ply is too heavy but I haven’t minded the extra weight considering the traction and awesome wear on most any surface. I am buying new tires in the next week or so and I was searching this site for the outside experience on different tires and its overwhelming the support for the ambush tires and Jeff at FAST also recommended the MR501 to me. Can anyone directly compare the Maxxis Razr II to the Ambush CST or the MR501’s?
locogato11283
Yes, I can directly compare them all. I've run them all. The MR501 are the best of the bunch. The Ambush are decent but much better when cut. Any ITP or Maxxis tire will be overpriced and underperforming. Again, I've run lots of them, so it's not just hearsay. I've also run Kenda Klaw and Knarly. They're good for road riding because of the harder rubber compound. I can go into more detail when I get home but I've got first hand experience with them all. bluepartsman
the maxxis razr II at $140 a piece for standard 20x11-9 size is CRAZY. maybe a few specific questions I would like to see in this comparison of the maxxis razr II to at least the ambush and MR501 is: Pavement road ridding comparison, stone road ridding comparison, hard pack dirt/rocks comparison http://www.maxxis.com/MotorcycleATV/ATV-Sport/M934-Razr2-Rear.aspx a bunch of people got me leaning towards the MR501 but for $70 a piece on the ambush how could i not try them!!?
