okbeast
Anyone that has a set of Lectrons set up for gravity feed...Is the needle separate from the seat or is it held into the seat? I found out I had what I thought was a needle/seat for a pumper setup so I called up LectronFuelSystems and ordered 2 new needles & seats. They just arrived and the needle is kept in the seat with a small lip. I don't really like this design because it seems like a great place for gunk to get trapped in and it will be harder to clean. If anyone can check there's out I'd appreciate it.

m671054
They make 2 styles of needle and seat. This is what ive seen and been told. The old stuff was all 2 piece and a clip held in the needle. The numbers stamped on the bottom tell you pump or gravity. The newer ones have a captured needle and also have a different thread. Per dennis if you have new style and want to install old style just retap to the correct size. I had to do this on my last set.

Well my carbs are set up for the old set (they have what I was told is a pump needle/seat) so I definitely don't want to re-thread the carbs. m671054
You cant go from old clip style to new style. The new style is slightly smaller. Get the number of the bottom of your pump style needle and seat and post it. Ill look in my stuff when i get back in town. I might have an old style gravity set id trade for a pump set. I want to say 3.3 is pump but need to check my notes.

Call dennis tuesday and he will have the answers.

okbeast
Thread is the same on the new ones. The old ones have 3.3 on the bottom. I don't like the new style at all, they are taller and look like they will take some new parts to make them work. Plus there's no way to pull the needle and clean everything out good. Going to call Dennis tomorrow.
m671054
You just need to adjust the float arm for the needle valve. Are you sure they are the same size. I bet your old new are STD thread and new are metric.I went from new to old and would only go like 1-2 threads. Maybe since your going old to new it threads in but would strip easily. I didn't try to torque any on the new ones but they threaded on really easy. I don't wanna mess with the float arm any I had the old one setup how I wanted. I just want to change seats/needle if possible...hoping I can find a set of the old style for gravity.
