Ok, I just got another call begging me to make some kind of replacement lock nut for the dura blue axel. (the one that uses their "junk" lock nut and not the stock ones). I can make one, but want to make sure it will sell before putting my time and money into this project.

How many of you with dura blue axles would by a replacement lock nut for the dura blue axle that actually stay's tight and doesn't have that stupid little screw on it? Cost would be around $45-$50 each.

Thanks-Dan

BdBanshee-I can't tell you why you are having good luck with the dura blue nut. Honestly, you are the only one I've ever heard that from. Most people have major problems with this nut and we have gotten hundreds of complaints about them. These complaints are from people that call or email asking if our lock nut works with the dura blue axle.

You are so lucky you should go out and buy a lotto ticket TODAY!! :D

sirkimo-The lock nut I'm referring to is the one that fits ONLY a dura blue axle. Not the stock style like you got from me. And, glad to hear it's working good for you. Thanks for letting me know that.

YES!!

YES!!!

YES!!!

THE DURA BLUE DESIGN SUCKS!!! I HAVE BEEN FIGHTING THAT DAMN THING SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT IT.

Just a thought could you make something like the honda anti-fade. there design includes the brake hub and lock nut as one assembly. I just don't know how well it would work on the sprocket side of the banshee.

Axles bending. I know a guy who races a shee, he is 2nd in the district in points. He rode the shee stock axle for about a year. Once he got really good (I mean really good, he is an A rider lapping other A riders) he bent the stocker. he ordered a durablue, bent it on a practice night. After Durablue wanted his firstborn son, they sent a replacement, and he sold it. He is doing sick jumps, clearing triples. I know some b riders on 2 wheels who can't even clear the triple. Anyway, he went to the lonestar and bent 1 about 6 months later, they warranted it no problem, and he has been on it since 4-5 months.

Maybe this guy needs some better suspension?

  • 1 year later...

OK, I recently picked up a LSR swingarm and had the back end apart. Now I can't keep that stupid Durablue locknut from loosening!

I guess I did get lucky and I should have bought that lottery ticket!!!!

So "alloyspecialties", are you making a replacement for this yet?

If so I need one.
