2strokes4u
For the guys who port their own jugs, where did you get your tools and what tools do you have?
sheerider11
I have an electric dremel and all different length and shape tips. The dremel you can get anywhere. The bits I'm just lucky and my father is a machinist and gets them from work.
#1JUANstunna
http://www.foredom.net/sr-fct.aspx I bought one of these a few years ago, brand new in the box, cheap! I'm just not patient enough to do a banshee. I've played around on some single cylinder stuff. It works great, I just wish I had a right angle head for it. trickedcarbine
No but if you seriously take the time to start messing with it and risk messing up a few sets you get my respect. Not that you give a shit about the respect of an ex con, but you'll get it. Every one says send it to the pros. Well who the fuck did they send their stuff to before there were "pros"? Every body starts somewhere. Get educated and start experimenting. It's the best way!
#1JUANstunna
I know just enough about it to get myself in trouble, that's why the pro porting my race cylinders. I'm going to work over my trail bike cylinders just for a little more power, nothing major. I also have plans for another stock cylinder motor for a drag bike that I'm going to play with myself just for fun. What's the worst that could happen, piss away a bunch of money. That's going to happen no matter what I do.
trickedcarbine
Literally every time me or my buddy break shit that is our motto. "It's just money!"

registered user
http://www.ccspecialtytool.com/2-stroke-porting-and-polishing-kit-9 i dont believe that motor runs in reverse. the SR is what you want. alot of times you need to cut both directions
Larry's Shee
What IS the definition of a "PRO" ? If you gotta have every last little bit out of an engine then maybe. Or if it's a $2g cylinder. I see a lot on this site all but expect shit to blow because there right on the edge. Built, not bought. Be your own "builder" I agree 100% with tricked. A little is a lot when it comes to raising port heights. Hardest thing is to be symeterical and duplicating one cyl to other
sheerider11
Did both with a dremel, a lot of research, a template, and a garbage cylinder on the side to try things on. Well over 30 hours to get them what I think is pretty close. I sent them to cam at redline and he hasn't called saying wtf happened to these things
