erickson483
I'm riding around on an old .080" over motor. Clearly I'm waiting for it to blow up and build a new one. I'm looking for some input on what I should go with. Cub? 4mil? Etc.....I do mostly trail riding and some dirt road riding. I'm going to go with a trued and welded crank, but I'm Leary about the reliability of a 4mil, cub, or a 421. I am fine with how fast my shee is now with just bolt ons, so my main focus is reliability. And I know reliability is touchy, but be realistic. I do leak downs, squish, plug chops, so assume all that is good when you talk reliability.

erickson483
I just got some works dual rates with rezzies, gonna send my rear off for a rebuild soon. But ya I like the sound of that!
sheerider11
Then you'll be good. You'll be real happy with a setup like that. Also I recommend getting the trans cut and a good clutch and basket. Pancake bearing, billet water pump.

sleeper06
What kind of pipes do you run and carbs
trickedcarbine
A serval on pump fuel makes what a not so reliable high strung race gas stock cylinder does. I feel like if you had more cylinder life you should do a ported 4 mil, but since your cylinders are done any way, a new aftermarket monoblock is in order. As far as the 4 mil, they are pretty friggin stout if you buy a quality crank. Definitely start reading up on the 421 serval set ups. There are guys keeping them on the more torquey side with smaller carbs and low end pipes, yet there are guys letting them breathe with bigger inframe pipes, carbs and port work. erickson483
Isn't the nikasil kind of a hassle and expensive to have cylinder work done on?
Larry's Shee
Isn't the nikasil kind of a hassle and expensive to have cylinder work done on? Only if you can't tune or wear the pistons to the point they blow the fuck up. Or if you build a high strung dragger and doesn't matter. trickedcarbine
35 pwks and og rockets Love my rockets for the roll on they have. Not to great for over rev, but for the tighter trails or hills, any riding where you are in and out of the throttle they really shine! bluebanshee98
if you got the cash go 10 mil serval on pump. the 10 will have more torque then the

bluebanshee98
^^^^ i like this guy yes he is correct it will have more ponies. trust me youll want more power eventually and this motor should have you content for awhile. i wish i skipped the 4 mil idea and went straight for 10. i like my 4 mil but do want the extra torque and grew out of it pretty fast
