trickedcarbine
Don't think you NEED one, but they are nice! I find for someone like you, the biggest advantage would be the ability to run way lighter springs and still not have clutch slip. All the 4 stroke guys that grab my clutch are pretty impressed with how easy it is to pull. I run the Barnett 3&3 springs in mine with an ASV lever and it is way light. WINDYCITYJOHN400
Your not making enough power to need a lock-up. (Half heavy and half light springs should be all you need for clutch pressure for now. All heavy if YOUR heavy. LOL) Unless your (Non-override) trans is perfect, sometimes a lock-up can make speed shifting hit or miss. You should be fine. I'd go with an 8-plate before I did a lock-up on that machine. oldskool
Thanks for the info, now I can spend the money on some pro-wedge II and a pancake bearing. I'm a lightweight, so will F.A.S.T. have the springs that I should try?

dirtydownunder
Yah, those slingshots are pretty heavy. Would rob a bit of HP. HD clutch n half half springs as said, will be fine.
WINDYCITYJOHN400
WAIT.......So we all agree? WTF? Isn't somebody suposed to tell a story about their 4 mill bike blowing through clutches untill they bought a 8 plate, installed all heavy springs and added a lock-up with a whole hardware store worth of nuts and washers? So......you asked a question and all you got was a good answer. Lame....This post is dead. LOL
dirtydownunder
You're right. This is really weird.
sheerider1026
I run a dd lockup on my ss. I know it is way overkill.. Its a stock cut trans with all the other tricks done. Shifts great and my clutch has held up grrreat! It was leftver from a partout so i threw it on

The slingshots are a bit heavier, but they definitely help in trails or places like hills when you want the momentum of the motor to come back. Like when guys in GNCC would add weight their flywheels to help the motor in a sense pull it self out of the hole if you chop the throttle. For me it helps a retarted amount using the added mass to come out of the turns on the ice.
locogato11283
The original poster doesn't even give us enough info to give him and educated answer. How do we know he doesn't have a 100HP 4mm motor? Everyone just assumes it's not making any power? I bet if Windy had a 4mm motor his would have a lockup.
