Running Toomey TR-6s With Vitos SS Pistons?

Recommended Posts

Possibly a dumb question in a sense but im just trying to look out for my dad.Im getting new pipes and was going to sell my tr-6s to my dad for pretty cheap, which isnt together yet but will be a fresh rebuild bottom and top, problem is his bike will be all stock except that it will be bored .020 over and have Vitos SuperStock pistons which is almost the same as having ported jugs, I know that the tr-6s are meant for mostly stock banshees with no porting mainly. Im curious if this would really be anything to worry about running those pipes and pistons together or if it wouldnt really be much of an issue.

The bike will remain stock like that for a while he wont be modding it out or anything. I just wanna look out for him incase it would be a really shitty combo and hold the engine back some and that he would be better off getting some used t-5s off here for maybe just a little extra cash then what i want. Im thinking most likely it should be fine but id rather get some opinions and such on this since im unsure, specially since ive never even heard of people running even like trail ported banshees and tr-6s together or anything. thanks.

This is something i have been thinking over too- mine has all stock internals stock bore with toomey TR6 pipes and k&n filter. I had the rings changed as a precautionary measure when i got the bike. I specifically hunted a good cond used set of TR6s due their credentials for a stock motor- reliability and budget being key for me and have looked at these SS Pistons and thought i may go for these when i eventually do a top end rebuild. i know theyre made by Wiseco but would they out perform the wiseco piston in a stock motor with TR6s??

Anyone have first had experience with these on TR6s as i would be more inclined to go for the Wiseco pistons unless these give more power?
