2strknewb
I have a 2000 that is stock other than the exhaust, the problem is that it smokes more out of one silencer than the other. The pipe that does not smoke like the other also backfires. The plugs appear to be wet and are fouling i think. Am I in need of new rings for the pistons or should I get a top end kit with new pistons, rings, gaskets etc..I am new to two strokes and am kinda lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated..btw I use Klotz r 50 with premium gas..Thank you!

2strknewb
i did switch the main jets that were provided with the exhaust from fmf, believe they were 240's, don't know much about carbs. I may have the air/fuel screw out of whack too? When you say re jet do you mean change more than just the main pilot jet?
n2otoofast4u
compression check is the first place to start. It will tell a large part of the story

Rustynail
Not running right on one side and backfiring out the exhaust could easily be a plugged pilot jet on the side loading up and backfiring.
