Problem with a supercharger, parasitic loss. On a big car I think it is ok because it makes so much power it's probably worth it to whomever is doing one. On a Quad it means lots and lots of Stuff to be stuffed in the frame rails and custom machined plates and adapters. Lots of money and it seems like it would need half of the power it can produce to turn it self.

Ever hear of cranking loss? Like when a banshee has so much compression it is fighting itself to turn rpm's on the big end? About the same effect on a supercharger.

Well put. A supercharger, you need power to make power. A turbo is free power. Flowing exhaust to basically spin a fan and direct that into the motor, bare bones simple effective idea. What's nice about a supercharger is that it's on all the time. A turbo must spool. But with such a small turbo that you can run on a banshee the spool time is minimal. With a super charger how much do you want out of it? How much power will it take to spin it to get it pumping to make power?

turbo isn't free horsepower. there is still some loss, but it is very little.and with the supercharge, you have to worry about having the crank balanced from the belt. and if that belt breaks, say bye bye to your leg or balls,

Get off the hq and go finish your efi.

Make a guard for the belt lol

Call me crazy but dude in the second pic has the belt upside down...

There has always been a historic turbo vs supercharger battle going on for years.

You will always be faster with a supercharger period. In drag racing you don't have time to wait for power.

It does not matter how much power it costs to run the supercharger if the parts can hold up to it.

What does the fastest 300ft and 1/4 mile machines run?
