trickedcarbine
Adjust the eccentric screw, mod the shift shaft, mod the shift star, maybe put in a shift pro detent arm and spring. Some like the shift pro with the stock spring if you have a modded stock star. On my bike I run the mull engineering star and it DID NOT like my stock spring with the shift pro detent arm. I was missing so many gears and losing to everything. You need a modded tranny for that serval if you have it running even half way decent. Banshees seem to really not like shifting much after the 60/65hp mark. The false neutral is when the dogs got to lock in and they don't have enough time to engage so they almost bounce off each other and freewheel for a few revolutions. Not all stock cut trannies are the same contrary to what some believe. You can do more to a tranny then just cut every other dog out. There are a few people who have the bugs worked out and if it's done right you will feel like you're toe shifting a porche. My tranny is buttery smooth and if I shift it at the right RPM I can ride it like an over ride. Cam: Camatv Gary: sheerider1026 Any site sponsor. Greg at WCR, he's a total fucking CUNT but the best stock cut I've rode. I wish he had his shit together.
moneybags
I like to put a washer between the shifter and the cover to keep the shift shaft from sliding back and forth.
209pinitTOwinit
Yea everything is adjusted right. Shifter kept sliding back and forth I found was the problem. Well I thought it was. Shifts when I ride normally but when I race it won't upshift when ran hard. So I may have to just get a cut tranny then? Jereme6655
That's what we've been telling you from the beginning. The banshee trans has a problem with finding a false neutral (which is exactly what you described) and we told you the solution. Now its time for you to do the rest......split your cases and send it out.
209pinitTOwinit
Fuck me. Lol time to call Jeff at fast again. Or is there any other better site sponsors that are known for their tranny work?
Jereme6655
there's 2 that I can think of on here that can cut your tranny camatv sheerider1026 Im not sure if jeff does the trans mods or not......if you find out please let me know. I eventually plan on stepping up to a serval and would rather have all the stuff prepped and in my hands for assembly all at once.....not start and then have to stop and send more stuff out. 209pinitTOwinit
Called jeff and he thinks my transmission gears or something else inside might be bad... So after I change my shift shaft with a new one and new adjustment bolt and springs and I still have the same problem I'll have to get the transmission ship out to him to see if it is the issue for sure and have him cut the bitch I'll keep u posted, not gunma have the parts in until next week or so. camatv
yup trans needs modded. no matter what its the best thing you can do to ( in my opinion) ANY banshee. even a cruiser or the ole "wife's bike" i do an entire process to these. no its not "top secret" but so far every trans i have done they seem to be very happy with. if you send one to me i can send it to any builder you want. i'm very easy to deal with! lots of things i have found wrong with them but most involve burned up bushings, burned up shafts, ( bad maintenance and bad bottom end oil) engagement edges blown off ( from trying to get it to shift), bent or toasted shift forks ( not so much on stockers) wrong adjustments and basically a total failure of yamaha to design a decent transmission. after the modification is done ( at least the way i do it) they shift bad ass, and will handle some power very well... and the plus is they wont destroy shift forks like so called "duneables" and if you think adjusting the detent is difficult try getting the spring pressure "just right" so the forks dont rub on the gears constantly and burn up in 6 months.. i mean unless you like tearing your motor down every 6 months to replace them?
