sheerider11
I don't see the point to buy a nice billet one. Only you know it's there. Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for shiny shit on my bike, but the timing plate is totally hidden. I picked up one on here for 10 bucks shipped

Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2 No doubt it's a million times stronger, but in what situation would you break it? I've had mine on and off my bike multiple times. Ridden in all types on conditions. The only way I can see it breaking is user error. Like I said I like shiny shit for my bike just as much as the next guy, but I don't see the point of the timing plate being polished billit when it's hidden by the cover. Some of the cast ones are terrible for having the threads pull out of the plate. Considering that you can get a billet one for the same price as a cast one, or just a few dollars more,I would get a billet one even though it is hidden. After all, you get what you pay for, and a few dollars extra now is better than buying the cheapest thing out there and then having to buy another(good one or el cheapo) later because it failed. That being said- STAY AWAY FROM RICKY STATOR GARBAGE!
trickedcarbine
The only acceptable cast plate to run is the slOEM plate. There are plenty of manufacturers making plates now so the days of the $95.00 pro design plate are gone. Running cast aftermarket plates just leaves room for disaster! The only user error is agreeing to run one. A few years ago I did a build and I used the whole RM package and it totally vibrated it self apart even with LOCTITE and proper torque spec. You can see in the photos where the plate originally came apart. The debacle costed me a new stator, plate, and flywheel.
trickedcarbine
I had a buddy complaining about people who buy sweet looking hard annodized rockers for their hot rods when all they do is cover them with valve covers. He bought the cheap o shit online, and ran threw them at the woodward dream cruise. Week later he to bought those bad ass purple rockers him self. Been in that motor for 9 years pass after pass, mile after mile.
ric-ross1
Those pictures look the cheap ones on ebay for 22$. Wont run those for sure.
trickedcarbine
That is the RM stator. You can get a Billit plate for under 50 bucks. Mattoon, Chariot, Pro Design, RDZ, etc.
hp2000
Trinity has a nice one that adjusts by the pick up instead of the whole plate moving.
