hmartin
First quad in 25 years and I bought an RM stator coil off fleebay thinking it would plug and play due to my original plug wire being trashed. Ran great then just died and won't start. It has a very weak orange spark every 5th kick or so. Narrowed it down to the coil if I did it right having .7 resistance, Clymers manual says .28-.36. I found a new OEM Yamaha coil but does not have boots, where and what source could I use for boots. Sorry for the ramble trying to cover bases! salmon_slayer06
I got mine from a powersportds dealer. They screw right on to the wire. I broke the plastic clip on coil so I ended up using a sealant to keep water out of coil. Was going to get a nology.... but bike runs great and I think OEM might be better.

salmon_slayer06
Old thread here I know, but is it okay to use the MSD boots even though it doesn't have the built in resistor? I'm about to put a new coil on with these boots.
