crf250man
Well after a few 4 stroke dirt bikes I've decided I want to build a drag banshee, strictly for racing only. Let me start off by saying I know very little about two strokes, and nothing at all about banshees. I have a few questions, I will be starting from ground up pretty much a frame and need to know where to start with a motor I want it to be reliable as possible even though I know dragging isn't reliable period. As of right now I have nothing, so my question is where should I start ? I was thinking find a stock motor and do a 10mm with drag port ? Or maybe 4mm with drag port ? Oh and I don't want to do a straight up drag frame, just take a stock frame cut of the uncessicery, drag cut plasctics and + 10 swing arm?? Please help Thanks Jay
Finch
if you know nothing about banshees you not gonna have much luck building one.
Ctown208
Buy one already done, way cheaper than to start from scratch
CFH87
^x2 and the only way to keep it reliable is your ability to tune good...
Larry's Shee
Buy one already done, way cheaper than to start from scratch[/quote What's the fun in that? He wants built not bought. Going to depend on $$. I would at least consider a frame already cut. So everyone knew everything about Banshees when they joined?? I don't fukkin think so]
troyzstang
First off Welcome to BansheeHQ In my opinion you have two options. A- Find one as cheap as possible because you're going to change about everything. B - Find a built bike and save a few dollars. Either way you're going to learn to build / maintain your bike. I built my current drag bike and really enjoyed the entire process. Just keep in mind that if you build your going to spend at least $4,000 -$5,000 and it won't end there. Once again Welcome Troy
trickedcarbine
Research the types of stock frame mods for your type of desired racing. 300 foot, hill shooting? Plenty of content on here to get you started. Then research the motor you would want. My suggestion would be a 421 cub. Tons of them out there running awesome and making guys happy. Not to mention it is a good combo to learn on since there is so much info on them set up wise. I would steer clear of the 10 mil idea till you really have a grasp on what you are doing. Nightmare
Build your own and learn, hands-on is the best way. Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk

sheerider11
Do it your self. I started with a banshee that I traded for a dirt bike. I picked up some one else's half ass project. More stripped bolts then I can count. Bearing that have never been changed and a bike that has been totally neglected
banshee760
Patience and a lot of money to get to we're UR at , try and search Craigslist for a good deal cheaper the better , but something that has upgrades , pipes maybe some suspension , this will give u more room to play with since u have valuable parts that u might be able to trade , also like u sayd no drag motor is reliable and has to do a lot w tuning and porting since these bikes they're main point is top end , but as far as reliable goes and cheap in cost stick w a 4 mill stroke , there is a variety of cilinders out there that u don't need to go that big on stroke cilinders size star at 64 all the way to 82 with that stroke and more reliable then a big motor and if it breaks its cheaper Welcome to bhq Say bye to UR funds lol

I know I'd be $$$$$ ahead if I had just bought a roller with a set of cases. Everything else has been changed anyway.
