booxzzy
sorry guys for this stupid question but how many pulses per revolution banshees ignition coil has?
booxzzy
tnx mate,i set it up to 2 but i was told that its impossible to have over 12 000 rpms with fatty pipes
vulvafan537240
i believe it is 2 but the tach feature isnt right on the vapor. at least with a banshee anyway.
booxzzy
gotta get something accurate enough to check it
rubberneck
vapor tach is useless on a shee (never tried it on anything else it could be worthless all the way around) The electrical system is simply too noisy on a shee, i tried everything could never get a consistent or accurate reading with the vapor
booxzzy
Ill try to get readings directly from flywheel so i think that should be accurate
apeik
let me know if that works booxzzy, ive had mine working great for a few years, but the tach does kinda jump around so i dont pay it much attention.
So Cal Suspension
When I had my vapor I ignored the tach, but everything else worked great. I don't know how accurate the wheel speed sensor was either, but it would show 63-64mph on a stock geared, midly modded stock motor.
vulvafan537240
You can calibrate the speedo with a hand held tach and get semi accurate speed. Like phibert said though, the electrical system is too noisy for a accurate rpm reading no matter where you put the wire. Maybe if the tach wire was shielded... beez33
I use a resistor plug and it seems like it reads pretty accurate.
vulvafan537240
So do I but according to the vapor I hit 11k with pro circuits on my old setup.
WINDYCITYJOHN400
So do I but according to the vapor I hit 11k with pro circuits on my old setup. We've had Pro Circuits on a built 4 mill dyno at a peak RPM of 11,400. Don't get me wrong...it was in over rev and not making much for power at that RPM. LOL But they CAN rev that high. 12,000 on FMF's though.....No.
So Cal Suspension
My vapor would show 12,500 with old school Don Elmer Gold Series FMF's...
bansheesandrider
I could not get the tach to work correctly on the Vapor I had on my Banshee. I even took the whole bike to Trail Tech and had them work on it. I finally decided the tach was too hard to read/not needed on my bike and Trail Tech gave me a Vector to try( I got to keep the Vapor also). It works perfect and my speedo has been verifeid with a GPS.
