salmon_slayer06
I have had good results with these coatings on headers and turbo and turbo manifolds for cars, etc. I have been wanting to get my Toomey pipes done with this stuff. To be exact the 1300 coating. The pipes now are painted black with the Ceramic Paint you get from the auto parts store.... its constant maintenance to keep touching them up. I have been wondering about getting the cylinders coated. This stuff will take abuse from what I see and hold its polished finish on top of it. Just wondering if anyone on here has had this done and do you remember how much it cost?
dirtydownunder
i think it would look a bit tacky on banshee pipes. JHC is nice if you have lot of polished aluminum and a contrasting colour. but on a banshee it could look out if place. i dunno, id have to see it. JHC doesnt clean up as good as chrome too. so over time, JHC gets patchy.
trickedcarbine
There is awesome stuff called Nitro Plate that looks like high polished aluminum. But be careful with the coatings on two stroke pipes! There are some pipes that respond really well to it while others are affected in a really negative way. I have seen it work well on PT hi revs and even Toomeys, but have heard mixed results about CPI pipes. As far as Shearers go, I have spoke with Mat Shearer on the phone about buying raw pipes to coat and he mentioned that it has been done on his pipes with negative results as well. I don't quite remember the numbers, but he stated that a customer returned pipes complaining about performance and he ran them back to back. Results showed drastic loss against his regular chrome pipes
