What to do with this 421

I have a 2002 banshee that I just tore apart to pc the frame and put on new a-arms axel ect. I purchased it in the spring after it had sat in a shed for 2-3 years with no use. It has a 4mil 421 that the previous owner put together as a kit from trinity. From what I have heard trinity is junk. The motor runs, I just dont trust it because it sat and because of who made it, also it has ZERO low end power. I dont want to put more than 800 into the motor, the rest of this build is costing enough. Any idea?

im certain trinity did assemble the motor but not mutch after that..... cubs dont make good bottom end anyways! some builders can get a little better bottom and mid from them but there basicly a lightswitch motor imo....... been there done that. cant beat a 421 for an entry level drag motor though!

any of the sponsers can hook you up with a ripper..... we even have a few non sponser builders here (chubby guy from kansas)

No need to go nuts. Send the motor to a good builder.(like REDLINE) Cubs can be set up to make plenty of low end with some slight changes. Cosmetics are just that....cosmetic.

Everything can be brought back with a little effort.

Keep the 39's, deck the base of the cylinder to lower the timings slightly, adjust the final set-up with base gasket thickness, then get custom domes cut and your cub will make power all across the curve.

You have all the pieces....you just need to have someone other than Trinity in charge of setting it all up. LOL
