crank bearings

Every builder has their own idea, and I have seen them just about every way honestly.  We just split a motor that had been running for years with both outers being TZ's and no issues.  We commonly set our cranks up with a roller bearing (TZ) on one side and a ball bearing (8 ball) on the other.  The one rule we live by is only use a very good quality bearing.  They will cost you more, but will help to alleviate alot of those premature failures.  Most every bearing failure we have encountered have been with cheaper bearings...usually Chinese.  Could be coincidence but likely not.
