fishwater71
Trying to get the plastic gear to come off the impeller shaft. Have removed the clip and the washer, but that damn gear does not wanna budge. Reading other threads it looks like it should come right off, but mine does not. Any tricks or ideas? Thanks guys. fishwater71
From reading other threads I do believe the pin is below the plastic gear and has to be removed to get the impeller out.
Finch
that you might be right. have you tried a bigger hammer?
fishwater71
This has turned into a mess of a job. Cover screws were all stripped out. Had to drill and use ez out on 4 of them. I just bought this banshee.
fishwater71
I could destroy the plastic gear and get it off that way, but I prefer not to.
crazycracker520
It might have gotten hot at one point and fused itself to the shaft. If you had a little press you might be able to pop it loose by taken the small impeller cover off and pressing on the shaft! Worth a shot if you don't want to hit with a hammer! crazycracker
Pastrykiller
I could destroy the plastic gear and get it off that way, but I prefer not to. Send me 10.00 and I will ship you a good plastic gear. Take off the e-clip, remove washer, pull straight up on plastic gear, push out pin and lightly tap the shaft out. fishwater71
I already bought the impeller, but looking like I may have to destroy this gear to get it off the old impeller. It just doesnt want to budge. Thanks for responding.
Starwriter
The pin that goes through the shaft prevents the shaft from going through the bearing and out the impeller side. Do not pound on the shaft. Heat or destroy the gear and then buy a billet gear from Mull.

Got to order one and the rubber seal.......and gear. Thanks again.
