Gotmils?
I've been running American racers since I started asphalt racing and I'm thinking about switching to Hoosier I'm running 20's..have anybody ever ran both what's the pros & cons on the Hoosier and witch ones last longer
SlowerThanYou
We have ran both, but in different sizes. The majority of our runs are with the ARs 20 x 8 x 10 SD23 compound. We have a set Hoosiers 20.5 x 10 x 10 D10 compound. We have done A & B testing with no real differences in ET. There's was a slight difference in MPH but i attribute that to the size/weight difference. What one last longer, don't know. IMO, any longer than a 1 race season is to long for optimum performance. Gotmils?
What about traction with ones hook harder??
SlowerThanYou
Didn't notice much difference. One of the fastest 1/8 mile quad ran small Hoosiers.

Gotmils?
Where did you see any gains from running the 8's vs 10's as far as width
SlowerThanYou
Where did you see any gains from running the 8's vs 10's as far as width You can run well into the 5s 1/8 & 9s 1/4 with a proper set-up on 8" wide tires. Most people go over kill on the tires.
2strokes4u
I run 18x10x10 AR's sd23 on an 10 by 8 rim, 7mil cub on race gas. even on street I can not get those things to spin unless i put dirt on them. it will stand straight up in the air without dirt on them. had to put my wheelie bar on after that. I was running about 15 psi in each tire. I vote for AR's Seen a bike spin hoosiers and wheelie with AR's so from my observation i went with AR's and I'm satisfied. not to say that hoosiers have less hook cause i have done zero testing. Slowerthanyou has more than likely tested both on the track so his thoughts would be more legit

Yep, use a bubble balancer! Got it at Harbor Frieght for around $40. You have to put lighter springs on it for the quad tires, Thanks Tedder!
