grpark20 Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 I'm getting back into the shee again an need your opinion on which will be more reliable and rideable.... Option 1 is 4 mil with trail port to match stroke and all bolt ons. 28mm carbs and +2 swinger. Option 2 is stock stroke crank with play port with all bolt ons. 28mm carbs and +2 swinger Bike will be a dune bike. I don't care about hp numbers, only about ride ability and reliability. I've already built a shee before that was over the top and forms wasn't rideable due to the power. Let me know what you think. Quote
Finch Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 id do the 4 mill can get more torque Quote
grpark20 Posted December 2, 2012 Author Report Posted December 2, 2012 I'm honestly afraid of the 4 mil. I did a 4 mil from Jeff with port to match and 35's on a +4 and it wasn't rideable for me. Not in a negative way, just way to much power for me to dune on all day. I may just be a biatch though? Jeff gave me exactly what I wanted, I just thought I was a better rider than I really was. Finch Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 depends what its ported for... a builder can set ya up with what ya want for ride ablity. theres a kid here with a 4 mill turd on racing but can dune it really torquey for a 2s just have more option with a 4 mill on how ya want it to run IMO Quote
Paulie B Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 4 mil play port w/28mm carbs. Thats what your looking for. At least IMO. I've ridden both and I think my buddies 4 mil filled that spot on the low-end my ported stock stock was missing. You don't need 35mm carbs on a 4mil if your looking for a fun rideable bike. Quote
locogato11283 Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 I would definitely spring for a 4mm motor. Quote
06specialedition Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 A built right 4mil will give you that "Ride-able" power your looking for. To each his own though. Quote
grpark20 Posted December 8, 2012 Author Report Posted December 8, 2012 I'm leaning towards the 4 mil. Worst case I just get it trail ported for the stroke so there's room to grow. Quote
BANSHEE HP Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 if you had a ported 4mm with 35's and it was too much for you or the area that you ride in(tight trails maybe?) then a trail ported 4mm with 28's shouldnt be much different. jmo Quote
SandSlingerOR Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 My old set up was non ported but had all the normal bolt on mods & with 28mm carbs. It was was a great dune set up, decent low end, & good enough top end to beat most four strokes. Quote
