camatv
damn you have a bunch of stuff lying around! still sounds rich off idle a bit. keep leaning the needle down. bet it comes up on the pipe much cleaner
99michael
Yea yea,, lol,, we were a small town used car dealer. But now days its damn near impossible to make a living doing that anymore. Unless you're a big time dealer. Slowly getting shit stripped out an hauled away. I actually leaned it out a couple clicks in the video. An did help somewhat with the smoothness off idle. Getting closer. I'm just happy to be able to ride again. Wish I'd quit hurting myself at work.lol
99michael
Well,, got the bike out today again. Finally my toe is feeling a little bit better.. Leaned it down some an it did help with the off idle. But didn't help with it getting it on the pipe in the midrange. If I roll the throttle it's not so bad, so I turned it back up. Roughly 55 clicks from full rich. now that I can actually ride it real aggressively. It's not workin out so great. Basically, lets say I'm goin for the hole shot.. Rev it out through 4 gears, let off, shift down to 3rd to keep rpms up, pin it to slide the corner an it has no balls, an sorta cuttin out./ won't rev any higher. I believe I need a richer needle, but not entirely sure. I emailed them asking what there thoughts where. An if anything in my setup would be throwing the carb off. bluebanshee98
Did the bike run fine without these issues before you got the carbs?
99michael
I've thought about it,, lol, but I'm gonna give it a chance yet. If this doesn't work out. I'll be goin to stock carbs.lol Should throw it on my cr250r an see how it does.. hmmm,
99michael
Did the bike run fine without these issues before you got the carbs? I'm only running one carb. Its a whole different topend then I had before. I had a trinity motor with big compresion that needed some attention. Wanted to run pump, so I picked these off of a member here to get rid of trinity.lol 150# kicking compression with a solid leakdown test. New vf4 reeds too.( thought Mabey my old vf2 where weak). so all should be good in that sense. Edited May 30, 2014 by 99michael
trickedcarbine
Granted all other issues are taken care of, any 2/1 makes a killer signal strength. That thing probably most definitely needs a richer needle. I messed with one that had a 39 PWK and the other was a Lectron. It was sorta simple with the lectron once it had a Packard metering rod (needle) that is pretty common for DM motors to run. camatv
yup your fueling a larger cc motor with one carb.. it sounds like its lean on the upper range OR starving for fuel...
bluebanshee98
Gotta make sure it had no issues with old carb setup before throwing new ones on. For all you know the carbs might be fine and it could be a dome issue Ect
99michael
Well,, after two weeks of waiting for them to finally send out the richer mr's, I think he sent the wrong ones. Cause the ones he sent are longer than the one that was in it. Tried them out just to see. An sure enough, they made the problem worse(figured). Barely be able to pull through the midrange during wot. I'm about on wits end with these people, lol,, hopefully it was just a mixup. But I clearly stated that I had a 36mm billet.. If its not a mixup.. I'm definatly gonna try to get my money back...
