Z400Banshee
I'm trying to decide on what pipes to go with. I am building a 421 with a clean up port job and I'm putting new plastics on, so i dont want pipes that wont fit with my front fenders. I was thinking about shearer pipes but they look to big for the fenders and i dont want them melting. suggestions definitely appreciated
Z400Banshee
Will Toomey T5's clear they fenders? I have fatty pipes now that came with the quad but i heard t5s are better than the fattys for mid to top end. im thinking t5s might be a little better than shearers for me to because im doing some woods riding. special06shee
If you take your time you can easily trim the inside of the fenders where the "bigger pipes" would hit! I trimmed my fenders to clear my shearer and you would of thought it was factory! Dont kill your motor build because of fucking fenders! Thats just dumb! Talk to a builder and get the pipe he recommends for your setup! Then just carefully trim the amount of fender that is needed to clear the pipes! Z400Banshee
Had to cut fenders back to make my old t5s fit, u doing a 421 serval? I bought a banshee off my friend that was in pieces because he bought an athena big bore kit and through it on not realizing the connecting rod bearing was bad. So now I have it lol since the crank is bad and the banshee is in pieces im redoing the whole thing and building a 421 with it using the athena cylinders

Banshee Chad
I bought my 06 new. Trimmed the fenders just enough to keep a gap between them and the cpi pipes.. looks good, don't be scared of a little trim..
Z400Banshee
thanks for the replies! I'll just do a little trim work on the fenders. just wondering what do you guys think about the trinity pipes compared to cpi or shearer
So Cal Suspension
Any porting on the cylinders? or as cast? Odds are the shearers are going to out perform anything else you throw on them.
Z400Banshee
just a clean up port and port matched case

fastforworddad
Get a Dremel tool, very easy to do, just take your time. You can make a radius edge that follows the contour of the pipe, when done it almost looks factory.
