Paulie B
In light of my stock carbs sucking so bad I went out and bought some Mikuni VM's. Don't hate they will work fine, they are cheap, kinda looks stock, and I already have shit tons of jets for them. Some thing guys don't know including the people selling them in kits on ebay is you can get most of the VM line with a right and left side idle adjust. The 30-34mm ones have the same body so if you start at 30mm and upgrade your combo you can just bore them. I've had all the stuff to do them for years now so it basically cost me nothing... okbeast
Looks good. But what do you do when you need to clean your carbs?
Paulie B
Whatcha mean? If your taking about dipping them then I doubt you can never tried. Dipping is the worst for even unfinished carbs it turns them colors. As far as cleaning do whatever. I normally use totally awesome cleaner on my bike and an electric presure washer. They can handle it. You got to be really slacking on maintenance or leaving gas in the carbs for months to have to dip them.
okbeast
I meant using carb cleaner.

fappy'97
Those look sick!!! Eastwood powders are generally pretty good quality too... Edited November 27, 2012 by rappy'
okbeast
Cool, they look awesome. Any PC we've ever had will get really soft with carb cleaner and then bubble up.
Paulie B
I've been rocking my stockers that I PC'ed 2 years ago with the same stuff. I'm pretty diligent about cleaning also. Maybe you got some bad stuff?
Coupelx
I have some stuff from a guy on ebay that another bhq'er told me about and it laughs at most aircraft stripper. The right powder makes a difference. Ive never used the eastwood stuff though.
2strokeshees
That looks good, you have probably been asked alot but what setup are you using for powder coating, is it a kit you bought?
Paulie B
I use the entry level gun from Eastwood. I think they sell it for around $100 now. The oven I use is just a regular home one. It's actually my old oven from the kitchen that is now only use for PC. After a while I bought a silicone plug kit from Eastwood to make life easier filling holes and covering threads and such. For stuff thats need to be covered like the nipples on carbs I just use tin foil.
