virustech
Uh, no, you're not getting it. The "cutaway" is shown below. It should be towards the air filter. Both guide pin grooves go towards the middle, so if you swap them side for side, and line up the pin, you end up with the cutaway towards the motor. ok thought you were talking about the square notch the big cutout. I gotta pull them to see what your talking about. Its pretty obvious right? So when I pull it I should be able to see it? I know how it happened I had them out they were pretty gunked up from the last owner so I cleaned them pretty good but had them out on the table so im almost 100% sure that there in wrong. Just got up so Ill be out there in a bit to take A look at them. Suppose the clymers manual says all this right!! Should have picked up the book!!!!! The funny part about this is I have read like 15 Threads about this and never put two and two together funny huh!
virustech
As far as it running really lean that was part of the normal outcome of this project. I put in New Reeds and Pods from a stock air box and stock reeds. Was just not 100% sure that it was not only that. This is why I ordered the jet kit. Before the jets were just a little lean now there really lean. So that for sure will be getting fixed gonna be doing some plug chops ect. Once i get the jets and the other problem sorted out. I have not been running it much at all just for that simple fact. Also for the pipes on here im not 100% that there pro circuit pipes thats just what I was told there are no serials on them or anything. So that being said im gonna snap a picture of them today and ill post it maybe you guys can tell me exactly what they are. I know there are no spark arresters in them so there gonna get replaced for sure. And this thing is retarded loud so looking to quiet it down just a bit. But for now there better than stock. They were in terrible shape when I got this thing. It sat outside for months im sure and the guy that I got it from had no idea what he had. Just a good old restore of a great quad. virustech
ok so as far as jetting Here is what I ordered Main Jets 270 280 290 300 310 320 330 Pilots 27.5 30 So I know how to plug chop ect. Fill me in on how to make sure I got the perfect Pilot. Would I let it idle and plug chop a set of plugs at Idle>? Or is there an easy way to check that pilot. Is it something that I would just be able to hear or feel while riding? Jetting is very interesting to me so thats why I ask would love to learn how to do it the easy way lmao if there is such a thing!!

Starwriter
Cool, glad you got it sorted out. So, if you've done a bunch of reading, you know about the choke tube between the carbs and the left float bowl that has the brass ball pressed into the outside, right? virustech
Yea i saw the hole for it but the ball is missing not sure if the previous owner loast it or not. hell he broke one of the needles off as well this was part of the reason I did the rebuild. As far as the choke tube yes its hooked up. I noticed that hole when I was cleaning the carbs and that thought went trough my head. Whats the ball there for just to make it roll? Kinda strange to have the ball on one side right? Is there a reason for that?
Starwriter
What ball are you talking about? Here is a pic of the float bowl ball. It's on the bottom of the right carb in the pic. (Left carb on the bike) Well, that didn't work.
