Banshee or other...

Mcaff

Ok so I start my topic off with the fact I love my banshee, however I don't love it's reliability or the fact it is a nightmare to get parts in the uk.

I use my banshee for just messing around tracks and trails etc nothing like some of you guys or compittive just general mucking around.

Lately I've got sick of the banshee and the fact I go to fix something and then something 10x worse happens to try and sort that so I have been toying with the idea of a newer quad..

So what do you guys make of the yfz 450 or the Suzuki ltr450? I really do love my shee but as I say parts are a nightmare so doing a rebuild is really not cost affective for me.

Let me know your general opinions of these other quads or try and sway me to keep the banshee...

Thanks for your opinions lads, just really trying to sort my banshee to sell now as its just problem after problem and its becoming the point now where I can't enjoy it without the worry that something else is going to go wrong.

What do you guys make of the yfz 450? The reason I ask is I cannot find a lot of the suzukis around my way for sale and then it has the same issue for parts here.

It's not really the parts to be honest it's just me that needs the change and I think I would just prefer a newer bike, I'm after a choke just now and a standard crossover pipe, there's a couple of other bits but if I'm honest if I'm not keeping it its no really worth it.

I was out today on my Honda crf because my banshee let me down yet again something simple that turned into a nightmare kind of my fault but its just the last straw. Went to do an oil change and when screwing in the sump plug I threaded the hole so just a small thing that could happen to anyone but it just sums up everything with the bike.

Yeah calm down mate I did say it was my fault.

Just came to the end of my teather with the thing hence the post, if I was looking for mechanical advice I wouldn't post it in this part of the forum.

Dude I ain't excited. I don't care. Just thought it was funny.

Just a general question.......why is everything harder to find and more expensive in the UK?

I figure everything that rides a boat to the U.S.A. also rides a boat to you. Why is everything such a pain to deal with in the UK?

Because everything comes from America, atvs aren't big business over here so there aren't many aftermarket dealers. There's no huge turnaround so the shops don't get distribution deals so they just buy what they need from the states.

I think mcaff here is using that as an excuse to sell his bike though, engine parts aren't that hard to get over here. By the sounds of it he's a 4 stroke get on and ride it guy who can't be bothered getting his head round a 2 stroke. No offense to the guy but some prefer the easy life.

To be honest you are both right! I do want an easy life it is the reason I got into bikes and motocross, I am very new to the sport as cars and modifying got very expensive and fucked me over but that's a story for a different day.

Parts wise it's not really getting the right part it's the fact of the cost of the parts over here, and every little thing has to be imported, that then brings on lots of small pain in the ass costs that I cannot get my head round paying.

I guess I would be more suited to a 4 stroke as I already have a Honda crf that I muck about on. I've decided however to keep the banshee for a while, well at least untill I sell it and get a yfz 450 or an ltr 450
