10mil crank question?

I spoke with Brandon from wildcard and he wants to put in a 10mil 120 rod crank in, so I just wanted to see what other ppl thought. I know other builders do things a lot different so I just wanted to see other peoples thoughts and opinions that's all

Brandon knows his shit so go with what he says... People need to learn when a builder tells you to run a motor he builds with certain components then that's what they need to do.... The builder gives u a list of things he finds brings out optimal performance in your particular build...

i understand im not a builder, thats why im asking people on here what they think so i can have a better understanding of what the difference is and why. i just dont really know. i trust my builder for sure no issues there at all. there are people that have replied to this to run a 115 rod then some say the 120. im trying to learn as much as i can and i dont want to get told to just run this its better....why is it better and how thats why i started this thread. im here to learn and pass on info as i learn it.

plenty of 10mills out there with 115 and 120 rod cranks in them.... both run hard.... i would pick a builder and go with what he says to go with....

my 10 mill super cub has a 120 rod 10mill crank in it and i have had zero issues with it.... pins are bigger on both ends of the rods and it uses bigger wrist pin bearings... i feel its a stronger setup then the 115 rod cranks but i have seen some 115 rod cranks take some serious hits of spray and live to see another day lol

again, go with brandon. he's a good guy that know's his stuff, and heart in every project. that being said. the main differences in lr vs sr, is mostly longevity. the longer rod will have a more linear angle to not only reduce piston rock, but increase piston leverage on the crank at more degrees. the trad-off is more mass. this usually doesn't matter, or even make that mich of a difference untill you get over 10, and guys going into the 14k+ are the type to start looking at the better ballance up there, but if you are not the rare few, and plan on actually getting some time out of the motor, then there is no real reason to want a short rod crank. i had a couple 4mills built in both long and short, just because i could, but belive you me, the long rod is for real playing. the short rod is for shop-time play.
