bikerjon
hey guys. Been loving my banshee since i picked it up in march and have set it up for trails and I honestly couldn't be happier with it. It got me thinking about bailing on my 450. I came across this add on craigs list and may be trading my 04 trx450r for it. Any guys on here that know about the 250r's? What should I look out for? It has a stock motor with a wide ratio trans. Has a no link rear set up, +2 a-arms works shocks. The plastics and seat are ugly but that can be fixed with time. Any thoughts or suggestions to look for are appreciated. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/mcy/3346710830.html
vulvafan537240
that thing is hideous imo. how much is your 450 worth?
troyzstang
Wow That bike is well ..... "different" If I were you I would keep the 450. Like you I have a Drag Banshee & a 700R for playing in the trails. Perfect combo I think.
rjdgriff
I'm looking at picking up a yfz soon to go along with my banshee, a 4-poke will be nice to have
trickedcarbine
That is more of an open desert racer. That is why there would be a wide ratio tranny and the tall seat and tank. Not to mention how high up it is. It is definitely different but it is purpose built for a different kind of riding then most guys are used to. If Inwere you I would seek out a different 250r if it is trails that you wanna ride. That bike would be a giant sponge and probably be a top heavy bike with substantial body roll. bikerjon
yeah, i know its an open desert racer. That's why i liked it. There is a wide variety of terrain where I live from tight trails up in the pine trees to wide open high desert washes and dirt roads. I am hesitant because the more I think about it, I really would like to have a multi purpose bike. I'm still debating. My 450 is in great condition but is an 04 and they are tough to sell. Seems like the grow on trees around here.
sumbitchinbanshee
I live in the midwest and have been riding 250r's for about 10 years now! They are awesome machines and my suggestion is to try one out! They did dominate almost every form of racing until the 450's were released in 2004. There are a lot of bikes and parts out there for them just like the banshee's. I think you will like the way they handle compared to the 450 or the banshee! With the long travel suspension I bet that thing is a cloud through the rough stuff! Looks can always be changed around!
