Launching a 10mil Serval

So i got a ported (just shapes) 10mil a serval my gearing is 15/38.. This is mainly a trail bike so i understand my ohtsu tires are gonna f*ck me.

 

I can come out in 3rd near wot, but i think im just spinning tires i'm on asphalt.. i have a +4 swinger WE USUALLY RACE 1/8 MILE

 

This is not a drag bike , but i do have a sh*t talker in my group. he rides a 392 cub lowered with shearers and 34pjs

 

before i give in and race him i want to make sure i have the best setup i can have without messing up my trail setup too bad..

 

So i have a 14,16, 17,40,41 sprockect to play with i also have a set of bald 21" holeshots if those might work better in a drag

 

thanks in advance also it is a wampus with a wampus head so he is already sleeping on my setup

I'm at 15/41 with my 421 serval and if I'm dragging I have to launch in 3rd gear, I'd go with 17 on the front I think and you should be ok to launch in 2nd, maybe even 3rd still

16 or 17 scoot your but to the back and pin it. but keep in mind a 392 can rip (ive been a guy with a 392 shit talking and usually it backs up my shit talking)

Yeah i had a 392 cub in the past the setup I have now just feels so much more powerful

 

So shud I put on the bald tires(make shift slicks), becuz I have a feeling no mater my gearing these ohtsu Tire are gonna spin

my advise is go out on the road by yourself and practice, try different things two or three different times! if your bike can launch in third thats probably your best bet! if you think your spinning to much, try 2nd and slip the clutch a bit then try to short shirt 3rd. the 10mil servals have a shit ton of tq so it will be very forgiving if you short shift gears to try to avoid wheel spin! jmo!

Well all my practicing got me a 2 broken clutch plates any recommendations on a new set?

i launch my 421 stocker motor in 3rd and just start slappin gears till it stops spinning

Yeah i broke 2 clutch plates in my fast clutch any recommendations on another? I'm starting to think that maybe it was my clutch slipping and not spinning tires I just assumed it was Tire spin

FAST, driveline, pro lock (all fzr1000 setups) and ive heard of using the cheap tusk clutches with toomey springs. are you running a lockup?

No lock up thinking on a sling shot tho I had a FAST clutch broke that lol guess I'm borderline needing a lockup anyway because it didn't mess up till I started practicing launches
