rtg61184
Alright i have searched all previous threads and cant find what i need. Im doing a dc conversion to run two trail tech sc4 hid lights i have a rs floated 200w stator and a rectifier from rs and the trail tech 3700mah batt. i want to run the lights to the stock light switch but not sure how. i plug the ground from new stator to old ground that goes to chassis right? do i just run new ground wires from batt/rectifier to lights or can i tie in to the harness ground somewhere? and how/where do i tie the power into the harness . Thanks and sorry for being retarded
Coupelx
You will have to either dig the ground wire out of the harness, cut it and run it to the battery or just run a whole new wire. I have my hids connected to the high beam wire. This way the lowbeam only turns on the tail light. High beam turns on everything.
rtg61184
thanks alot for the help. what if i hooked the ground right from the stator to the frame somewhere and then used stock ground in wire harness from batt to lights would that work? Coupelx
You will hook the regulator up to the yellow wire in the harness. The blue wire would probably work. It connects to the yellow wire. Just the grounds for the lights need to be changed.
THE358BANSH
The best way is to run a relay off the light switch. The switch and wiring up to it are too small for the type of current that some of these lights draw.
Coupelx
Hide draw less than the stickers...
