camatv
i think its in the repair manual. there is not much weight difference. about 10lbs or less?
bansheesandrider
I thought the spec sheet for my 89 when I bought it new was 370. 87 and 88 might be different slightly because 89s had 10 inch rear wheels and a six bolt rear sprocket intead of 9s and a 4 bolt sprocket on 87 &88. Jereme6655
like cam said its in the book.... 401lbs for 87-89. then in the later years it climbs to 408lbs and then to 410lbs.
exxxtreme
thank you for the replies. i tried to look at online service manuals but always found manuals saying 87-06 thanks for the input guys. i said to hell with it and bought a tricked out 96. Got it for 1800 and he had over 3k in mods. Great deal.
Starwriter
Got it for 1800 and he had over 3k in mods. Great deal. Good find. Now that's the way to buy a Banshee. Even if it's not set up quite how you want it, sell some aftermarket goodies and use the money to buy what you want. As far as weight difference, a few things to consider are that '87 didn't have footbaskets, so that's probably 5 lbs. At some point they changed the swingarm carrier bolt design to 2 long bolts with spacer tubes, instead of 4 short bolts, so that's probably 1 pound. So, for the actual J arm vs A arm suspension, it's probably only about 3 lbs difference. Maybe less, considering that the early brake calipers with the big cast iron brackets are probably heavier than the later ones.
