GleasmJA
I've got a few questions for the guys out in cali. I'm moving out there shortly and want to know what i need to be able to ride. I'm in the military and have my banshee registered in NY since '96. Will i have to register it in cali to be able to ride, or is there some stipulation for military people to keep home state registration?? Any help would be great.... thanks Jon

You have to buy a Dune Pass for the weekend or buy a whole season pass. 2. if your bike is out of state you can either register it in Cali and they will give you a sticker for 2 years i want to say my bike costed 75 bucks or you can buy a out of state sticker for the season. personally i would say just buy the out of state sticker unless you plan on staying in Cali for a long period of time. I think its 20 bucks for the year, if i remember correctly. Remember to always wear your helmet even if unloading your quad in camp. They will pop you especially on big weekends. Tons of fun out there. I would recommend a handheld GPS and put in the coordinates for the major hills. These are easily found on the Glamis site i believe or the pamphlet onsite. Open fires are allowed just no pallets or wood with nails. Pack it in and pack it out. Just my 2 cents.

jasons
Its a blast. I lived in SD for 3 years and rode every chance i got. except in the hot weather. if you need some paddles i have some for sale that are at a buddies house. I left them there when i moved back to Va. Use Skat Trak Haulers for dragging and i would suggest Sand Skate ll paddles or ITP Sand Stars for duning.
MarineNYC
I'm from the Bronx but I was stationed in San Diego for 5 years in the marine corps. I use to ride glamis all the time. This is gonna blow your mind. Get yourself a desert tank. And a set of sand star paddles. And prepare for the time of your life. You should be able to buy a out of state sticker at the ranger station. You are going to be able to hook up with tons of people from the site that ride there on the regular. I am envious of you right now. Good luck. And be careful riding. That place will kill you.
GleasmJA
I'm sure they make paddles in 10" rims.... but is that a good size for paddles. I have 9" and 10" hipers.... wondering which is better for paddles? The other set i'll use to dirt tires. I've got some cheapo paddles now that i got to play with in FL. They work ok... but will probably have to get some decent ones for the real dunes.

Badbar88
I'm an hour north of SD, I have some used Sand Stars on blue labels and some well used 9 paddle Haulers on brand new blue labels. Hit me up if you need em!

2strokeshees
Get an out of state sticker, my 12 yfz an my 04 banshee both have Oregon atv permits on them, we make a trip up there every year, every 2 years I get a new sticker, the cool thing is a sticker up there was $10 maybe a dollar or 2 more, I dont know how long your staying but you will soon find out Cali does anything to screw you an registering ohv is a big one. If your going to be close to Glamis abuse it, place is awsome, only other place i think gives it a challenge is St. Anthony. But be safe man theres some stuff out there that can get you into some trouble.
