manny 2004 banshee
hi guys. I want to upgrade my headlights, but was planning on going with a 10 inch led bar. From what ive seen on these forums you probably want to convert from ac to dc power. I was looking for the most cost effective way, so im planning on sticking with the stock stator and not installing a battery. Ive been wanting to do the conversion for a while now, but every time i read any of the topics on here about i feel sort of perplexed, (im not that electrical savvy yet). So i was wondering if someone could give me a pretty detailed and description of what i have to do, and maybe some pictures would help. Any help would be appreciated though. Thanks
manny 2004 banshee
search, there was just a topic about this with pictures. i mean fuck it was even titled "dc conversion" http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=159393&st=0&p=1393324&hl=+dirt%20+wheels&fromsearch=1entry1393324 I had used the search function and that one didn't pop up. manny 2004 banshee
So would I need a regulator/rectifier, or would I only need that if I plan on adding a battery?
thomas h.
The reg rectifier a must. When you float the ground, that where the floated wire goes to. People give crap over the search tool but its not perfect so just use google and google images. Any who, you might not need a battery or capacitor for led but a small battery will help for those times when your at idle maybe. It there was a battery then if you just need some lite your good and there it a lot of small battery options on flea bay.
manny 2004 banshee
Okay. Well is there any local places that might have a regulator/rectifier? I was kinda planning on getting this done today
So Cal Suspension
Okay. Well is there any local places that might have a regulator/rectifier? I was kinda planning on getting this done today None that I know of... Also, with LED's, unless you want them to flicker like mad at lower RPM's, you'll need a battery, also. manny 2004 banshee
Yeah, i decided I was going to go with a battery since I had an extra one from a street bike laying around. Any suggestions on a good rectifier online?

Any suggestions on a good rectifier online? Trail tech is the one I've used the most. There are some off of sleds that work too, but I'd go with trailtech's. thomas h.
Whats dc conversion?? Stock banshee light system is A/C. If you want to upgrade then you need to switch to D/C to run different bulbs or HID or LED
